Google Plus Twitter

Google Labs came out with Follow Finder for Twitter. It's pretty cool. Most of the suggestions it had for me were fairly on-target, but it did give me a lot of folks I already follow. Since I got the link to it from a tweet and I was logged in, it should have noticed I already follow those folks. However, if you're on Twitter or want to try it out, Follow Finder a good way to find Tweeters you might be interested in.

Free Ning No More

Ning, the social network service, is phasing out free networks and will concentrate on its paid, premium accounts. I tried Ning and am on a couple of networks, but I never got comfortable with it. I found the navigation confusing, the layout and graphics irritating, and was annoyed that I had to keep logging into each of the networks. This is probably the best thing for them, to concentrate on the paid services, coming up with enhancements and additions that people are willing to pay for. I suppose I should check on that Chocolate Lovers network I created. If I can remember my login.

Now This is Just Cool

I can't decide which is cooler: that of the major archeological find or that the archeological find was done with the help of Google Earth. In any case, this is very cool and really points out how research is changing thanks to online tools.
