The Evolution of Bookmarking

I used to bookmark links in my browser, first being AOL, then Internet Explorer, and finally, Firefox. Then I started saving bunches of them to a website I created. Next came delicious. Now I sometimes bookmark to Firefox, use delicious a bit more often, and have added Facebook to the mix. And if I really want to share, I post it to Twitter. Finally, from having everything in one place, everything is scattered, with a percentage of overlap and I lose track of where individual links are. I guess that's called progress. ;)

Try becoming a beta tester for MyFavesClub (www.myfavesclub.com) I think its gonna give you exactly what you need to keep track of your favorite sites...

Anon, I was going to reject your comment as spam, but I searched for your site (I never click links from sources I don't know) and decided to publish your comment because it looks legit and I have comments set to not show live links. Your site looks interesting, but it's nothing I'm interested in. delicious works just fine. My post was meant to be ironic. I guess you missed that, or decided to jump on an opportunity to promote your site. So, here's your promo, but no endorsement.

Most of the social bookmarking sites let you import your bookmarks, at least from delicious. I happen to love delicious and despite trying a half dozen others, have stuck with delicious. The point remains, however, that I still haven't gotten all my bookmarks there because they've been scattered elsewhere over the years, including a blog of bookmarks that I created from my old website. I just added a dozen such sites to delicious and am wondering how many more remain floating out in the ether. Right now, my browsers have just bare bones bookmarks. ;)
